A segment of the Tractatus Logico-Philosophicus by Ludwig Wittgenstein known as the Picture Theory of Language (Prop. 2.1 – 2.25) translated from the original Ogden English translation into Ogden’s Basic English. A list of the 200 picturable words in the Basic English language.
In 1921, C.K. Ogden was commissioned to translate the Tractatus Logico-Philisophicus from German to English. In 1925, he went on to develop Basic English, an auxiliary international language of 850 words. This work is a merging of these two linguistic achievements.
This work is an excerpt from a larger project, a full translation of the Tractatus Logico-Philosophicus into Basic English. More soon
